A creative, maker + doer of all things fun and adventurous. Gelisa enjoys pushing the boundaries of design and experimenting with textures, colours and spaces. Gelisa moved to Tasmania in 2017, two weeks before their son was born and shortly after started building the foundations of HONEYFIG. Learning to settle into a new home, becoming a mother for the first time and launching a business has been a fun filled challenge and adventure. Previously, Gelisa worked 10 years as a Social Worker; primarily with Asylum Seekers, Refugees + Migrants in both Australia and overseas in Nauru + PNG, within various roles and Non-Government Organisations. Once Gelisa became a mum, she felt something was missing and decided to pursue a more creative path. Given her natural knack for all things design; she decided to study events and committed to giving people the ultimate experience of connection and tying that together with nature for an immersive and multi-sensory experience. Gelisa is an avid world traveller (25 countries + counting) and uses this as inspiration for all her projects, whether it’s drawing elements from white pristine beaches, tropical jungle oasis’ to golden hour sunset hunting.

Omar is the man behind the scenes; he’s either building a new contraption, helping pack the van, bump into a venue or helping carry all the heavy things. He is the handyman, builder and fixer behind most of what we do. As a Social Worker of 10 plus years and having worked in Australia and overseas in Nauru; Omar has been working towards entering the creative world. His love of Photography is a cliché as it gets but started nonetheless with Travel Photography over 6 years ago when he was working and living abroad and backpacking over 10 months through the Americas. He has always loved capturing raw landscapes, the oceans rippling waves and chasing down the golden glow of the sunset. But he has since found his newfound love for portraiture work and loves candidly capturing people in love; chasing the nuances of expression, like a lovers sparkle of the eye or the dimples crease of a forming smiling.
