Tropical Brunch & Beach Event
Cliché, but how bloody scary is it that it’s almost Christmas and those impending awkward family get-togethers are upon us- Lord have mercy.
On a side note though, we were fortunate enough to be asked to Cater and Style this year’s Volunteer Christmas Celebration for Abundant Life Church. The brief was simple: a Brunch Grazing Table and a fun Tropical theme for 70 + people. The rest was up to us.
How great is it when you have free reign to let your creativity run wild?
Our little of team of two managed to pull together a Brunch Grazing Table, 6 individual Picnic set ups and the perfect little Tropical Throne and Floral Arrangement for the event.
The morning began with a little bit of drizzle but after a Polynesian sun dance, the clouds parted, the blue sky was clear and the sun engulfed us as its beautiful glow ensured our sunburn for the day.
Legit though, it was spectacular.
Picture parking your car on the road and you’re beginning to make your way over the small sand dune obstructing the water view from the road. There is a small sand path towards the beach and it is as if the coastal grass itself had parted for you and you alone.
As you step onto the beach itself, you are greeted by the glorious Tasmanian hills in the distance, crystal blue waters and by our first décor styling piece- our very own Peacock Chair and perfectly crafted backdrop, all adorned with our Tropical floral arrangements ready for those Insta stories and posts- #hellogorgeous.
Widen your gaze and then you will notice six perfect little Picnic setups with various pieces of décor to compliment. Ranging from our beautiful mix of Turkish, woolen and Jute rugs, low tables, birdcages, floral arrangements, lanterns and tropical cushions to make it truly unique.
Walk a little further and hello baby- there she is.
The pièce de résistance- the beautiful Brunch Grazing Table.
Three words- SAY MY NAME!
Ummm, I want one of EVERYTHING- yes and amen.
I’ll have some fresh made savoury scones, waffles, croissants, blueberry and custard Danishes and a lamington to boot. But also cause I’m dieting right now, I’ll have some muesli and yoghurt and some fresh fruit too- feeling healthy AF.
And… did someone say Round 2?
Second plate incoming with delicious cheeses including King Island Double Brie, Vintage Cheddar, Fresh Chevre and a side of saffron honeycomb.
I think that will do me for now…
So… with all the fun activities including, Jet Ski’s, Boat rides, Volleyball and people lapping up that fresh Tasmanian air and sunshine with a morning swim- it was a pretty bang’n, o-for-awesome Christmas Party for the coolest and most deserving of Volunteers.
With bellies full, I think it was safe to say that no one left hungry. Our job was a success.
In the meantime, here are some captures from the day.
